The DNC-1142 Underwater 3G-SDI and LCS Surface Cable combines live video monitoring and Teradek RT lens-control connectivity in one 100 ft (30 m) underwater-to-surface cable assembly for professional cinema camera systems.
A custom Dive And See waterproof SDI/data connector is installed on the underwater end. At the surface end, the cable separates into a BNC connector for 3G-SDI video and a 5-pin LEMO-compatible connector for a supported Teradek RT controller or receiver. This allows a surface operator to monitor 1080p60 video while controlling compatible focus, iris, and zoom motors on a submerged ARRI ALEXA Mini camera system.

How the DNC-1142 Works
- Connect the underwater end to a compatible Dive And See bulkhead connector installed in the camera housing.
- Connect the surface BNC plug to a compatible SDI monitor, recorder, switcher, or converter.
- Connect the surface 5-pin LEMO-compatible plug to the supported Teradek RT control equipment.
- Connect the camera-side control interface and lens motors according to the Teradek and camera-system instructions.
- Verify the SDI image, controller response, motor direction, limits, and waterproof connections before deployment.
Live Video and Lens Control
The DNC-1142 allows the surface operator to monitor the underwater camera image and operate compatible lens motors without opening the housing. The SDI channel delivers the video feed, while the separate control channel carries communication for focus, iris, and zoom operation through the supported Teradek RT system.
Available control functions depend on the camera, controller, receiver, lens motors, motor configuration, camera interface, firmware, and wiring. Confirm the complete equipment chain before ordering.
Teradek RT Controller Integration
The surface-side 5-pin LEMO-compatible connector is intended for a supported Teradek RT lens-control workflow. Teradek RT systems can be used with compatible receivers, controllers, and lens motors to operate focus, iris, and zoom from the surface.
Teradek controllers, receivers, lens motors, camera, lens, underwater housing, monitor, recorder, and power equipment are not included with the standard DNC-1142 cable unless explicitly listed in the selected option.
3G-SDI Video Performance
The SDI channel supports SMPTE 424M 3G-SDI at stated bit rates of 2.970 Gbit/s and 2.970/1.001 Gbit/s, with video formats up to 1080p60. The camera output, bulkhead, cable, BNC interface, monitor, recorder, and all other connected equipment must support the selected SDI format.
Built-In Water Block
The waterproof connector includes a built-in Water Block designed to help maintain vacuum integrity inside a compatible underwater housing. It also helps limit water migration toward the housing if the external cable or connector is damaged.
The Water Block is an additional protective feature and does not replace correct installation, O-ring inspection, connector tightening, strain relief, pressure testing, or routine maintenance.
