The DNC-2191 is a precision-engineered underwater HDMI bulkhead connector developed specifically for the Nauticam NA-C70 underwater housing and the Canon EOS C70 cinema camera. Unique Swivel Elbow Design – Built for Real-World Use
One of the key advantages of the DNC-2191 is its rotatable 90-degree (elbow) HDMI connector.
This swivel design allows the connector to be installed in the preferred orientation, ensuring that an external underwater HDMI cable or Dive And See HDMI monitor connects horizontally rather than vertically.
Horizontal cable routing provides major real-world benefits:
- Reduces bending stress on the external HDMI cable
- Prevents downward cable pull on the bulkhead connector
- Improves strain relief when using long or heavy underwater HDMI cables
- Creates a cleaner, more secure connection in underwater environments
This design is especially important when using surface HDMI cables, long cable runs, or underwater monitors, where vertical cable orientation can cause unnecessary mechanical stress.
Extra-Flexible Internal HDMI Cable (21 cm)
The internal HDMI cable is slightly longer (21 cm) and manufactured using a very flexible, fine-strand HDMI cable, specifically selected for underwater housings.
This flexibility allows:
- Smooth and natural routing inside the housing
- Reduced mechanical stress on the camera’s HDMI port
- Easier installation and servicing
- Better tolerance to vibration and movement during operation
Unlike stiff HDMI cables that can push against the camera or housing walls, the DNC-2191 cable naturally follows the internal layout of the Nauticam NA-C70 housing, improving long-term reliability.
Water Block Technology – Critical for System Safety
The DNC-2191 features integrated Water Block Technology, an essential safety feature for professional underwater systems.
The built-in water block serves two critical functions:
- Maintains housing vacuum integrity when used with systems such as Airlock Vacuum System
- Prevents water ingress, ensuring that water cannot travel through the bulkhead into the housing if there is a failure or improper connection of the external HDMI cable
This design significantly reduces the risk of camera damage and protects internal electronics in the event of external cable or connector issues.
