The long-thread design provides additional mounting flexibility compared with short-thread M16 connectors. DNC-2025 can be used with compatible M16x1 threaded ports or installed through a compatible non-threaded 16 mm through-hole and secured from inside the housing with the included Security Nut.
The connector also incorporates a dual O-ring sealing design with a Face O-ring and Side O-ring. When enclosure geometry and wall thickness allow both seals to engage correctly, this provides additional sealing redundancy.

Some underwater housings use a standard M16x1 threaded port. Other enclosures, particularly polymer or composite housings, may use a simple non-threaded 16 mm through-hole instead of relying on threads machined directly into the housing wall.
For a non-threaded 16 mm through-hole installation, the DNC-2025 passes through the housing wall and is secured from inside the enclosure with the included Security Nut. The extended M16x1 thread provides sufficient length to pass through the housing wall while maintaining the thread engagement required for the Security Nut.
This mounting method is especially useful for polymer and composite housings because the mechanical retention does not depend entirely on threads cut directly into the enclosure material.
The long-thread configuration can also be useful when enclosure wall thickness requires additional thread length for proper installation.
Dual O-Ring Sealing — Face + Side
The DNC-2025 M16 Long-Thread design incorporates two O-ring sealing locations:
- Face O-ring — seals against the external mounting surface of the housing
- Side O-ring — provides an additional radial sealing point when the housing geometry allows it to engage correctly
When enclosure wall thickness, bore geometry, and mounting dimensions allow both O-rings to engage correctly, the dual O-ring design provides additional sealing redundancy.
