Monitor’s Compactness / Screen Resolution

At the moment, DNC-5A is the world’s most compact external monitor in underwater market. Our monitor has a great Full HD screen resolution – 1920×1080. According to our customers, such compactness allows divers to implement a convenient transportation. Additionally, due to the monitor’s compactness our monitor can be submerged in water for a distance more than 150 meters, which is very unique for underwater market. Furthermore, our monitor has the brightest screen on the underwater market – 450 nits.

Let’s discuss the advantages of DNC-5A.

Advantages

When developing housing for DNC-5A, our engineers were focused on strengthening a housing for the monitor. The goal was to create a robust housing with easy access to all monitor’s settings. Our monitor is completely sealed – it makes it even more safe to use. Long-lasting experience in the underwater market has shown that openable housings are less secure due to the ingress of any foreign object such as hair, water, sand, small pieces of napkins and etc. Our monitor has a strong, embedded battery, which is easy to charge using an external battery charger. One battery charge is good enough for 4 hours of continuous use. To charge DNC-5A you will need to unscrew the protective cap and simply insert charging cable. There are no worries if your protective cap was lost, because we decided to insert a water block inside monitor’s charging port.

Focus Peaking

Our monitor has 4 different focus peaking options.

Focus peaking is a focusing aid in live preview or electronic viewfinders on digital cameras that places a red (green, blue, white) in-focus edges (contours) within an image using an edge detect filter.

The operator adjusts the focus control until the red outlines on the desired area are well visible, indicating optimal focus. For the best results, be sure the subject is properly exposed.
Available Four colors – Red, Green, Blue, White.

Power Button Options

DNC-5A has two shut-down power button options. The first option is a basic «ON/OFF» button, in other words, «standby switch». The second option is a security switch, or so-called «kill switch».

Kill switch is a mechanism used to shut down or disable the monitor. The Kill Switch button design protects the monitor from self-activation during transportation.

Mounting Capability

Furthermore, our monitor’s setup includes cold shoe ball mount, allowing the underwater monitor to be tilted and rotated, with 1ʺ ball on the end. Binding T-slot on the bottom allows convenient connection with underwater housings and arms.

Bulkhead Connector

Since December 2019, the company «Dive and See» decided to improve overall safety of DNC-5A, so company provides a water block inside the monitor’s connector. Water block prevents water penetration inside your device. By the way, we have bulkhead connectors (fittings) for all brands of the housings. AirLock Vacuum System (Bulkhead connector)

Bulkhead connector comes with the built-in water block. Water block will keep the vacuum inside of the housing when using the AirLock Vacuum System.

Sunshade / Monitor Hood

Also, DNC-5A setup includes detachable sunshade, in other words, monitor hood. Removable Sun hood greatly eliminates glare in shallow water, outdoor viewing and protects delicate monitors from the elements. Constructed of durable plastic can stand up to the rigors of use in the field. Spare screws include the monitor kit. Monitor hood is easy to install.
