DNC-1182 Submersible GoPro Power Cable – 10m, 30m, 60m
DNC-1182 is a professional submersible DC power cable designed for the DNC-GP31 Waterproof GoPro External Power System. It provides a detachable underwater power connection for extended GoPro recording, marine observation, research equipment, and custom camera installations.
The cable features a specialized waterproof mating connector at the underwater camera end and three selectable surface-end termination options: 5.5 x 2.1 mm DC Female, 5.5 x 2.1 mm DC Male, or Open Wire Leads.
Available in 10 m (32.8 ft), 30 m (98.4 ft), and 60 m (196.9 ft) lengths, the DNC-1182 offers flexible integration with compatible external DC power supplies and battery packs.
Important: This product includes the selected DNC-1182 cable only. The DNC-GP31 waterproof housing, GoPro camera, and external power supply are sold separately.

Available Cable Lengths

Depth Rating: Cable length is not the same as operating depth. The compatible DNC-GP31 housing has a maximum operating depth of 164 ft (50 m). A 60 m cable does not increase the housing's depth rating.
Surface-End Connector Options
DNC-1182 is available with three different surface-end termination configurations. Choose the option that matches your external DC power source.
Option 1 – DC Female Connector (5.5 x 2.1 mm)
The cable is supplied with a 5.5 x 2.1 mm DC female barrel jack at the surface end.
This configuration is designed for connection to a compatible external DC power supply or power cable equipped with a matching 5.5 x 2.1 mm male DC plug.
Option 2 – DC Male Connector (5.5 x 2.1 mm)
The cable is supplied with a 5.5 x 2.1 mm DC male barrel plug at the surface end.
This option is useful for connecting to compatible battery packs, regulated DC power supplies, and other electrical equipment equipped with a matching 5.5 x 2.1 mm female DC output socket.
Option 3 – Open Wire Leads (No Connector)
The cable is supplied with unterminated red and black power wires at the surface end instead of a DC connector.
This configuration allows engineers and system integrators to install their own connectors or connect the cable directly to compatible electrical equipment.

How DNC-1182 Works
- Select the cable length: 10 m, 30 m, or 60 m.
- Select the surface-end termination: DC Female, DC Male, or Open Wire Leads.
- Connect the underwater waterproof connector to the mating power pigtail on the DNC-GP31 housing.
- Route the cable to the external power source with appropriate strain relief.
- Connect the surface end to a compatible regulated DC supply.
- Verify the correct electrical configuration before powering the camera.
The DNC-1182 transmits electrical power only. GoPro video recording is performed internally using the camera's memory card.
External Power and Voltage Requirements
The DNC-GP31 system supports approved external power configurations within a 7.4–24 V DC input range, depending on the system configuration.
A regulated 12 V DC supply may be suitable for standard approved configurations. The correct external voltage must be selected based on cable length, voltage drop, and the DNC-GP31 electrical configuration.
Important: A 60 m power cable can have significantly different voltage-drop characteristics from a 10 m cable. Do not assume that the same external supply voltage is appropriate for every cable length.
Never connect an unregulated or incompatible supply directly to the GoPro camera's USB power input.

Waterproof Connector Installation and Safety
- Inspect connector seals and mating surfaces before each deployment.
- Keep connectors clean and free from sand, salt deposits, and debris.
- Fully mate and correctly secure the underwater connector before submersion.
- Do not connect or disconnect underwater unless the connector is specifically rated for wet mating.
- Do not lift or suspend the camera housing by the power cable.
- Provide suitable strain relief at the camera and surface ends.
- Verify correct voltage and polarity before applying power.
- Keep standard DC barrel connectors and open wire leads dry unless protected by an appropriate waterproof termination.
