Professional Swivel HDMI Bulkhead Connector for Underwater Housings
The DNC-2188 is a swivel M16 HDMI bulkhead connector designed for professional underwater camera housings and custom video systems. It provides a secure HDMI pass-through connection from the inside of the housing to an external waterproof HDMI cable, allowing live video monitoring, recording, or streaming from underwater systems.
Unlike standard straight bulkhead connectors, the DNC-2188 uses a rotatable elbow-style design. This allows the external underwater HDMI cable to exit horizontally along the housing instead of standing vertically away from the housing body. This can improve cable routing, reduce drag, and reduce mechanical stress on the connector during underwater operation.
Why This Connector Is Different
Underwater HDMI systems often fail or become inconvenient when cables are routed in the wrong direction. A vertical cable exit can create more drag in the water and can place unnecessary stress on the bulkhead connector. The DNC-2188 helps solve this problem with a swivel body that allows the user to position the external cable in a more natural direction along the housing.
The internal side uses a full-size HDMI Type A connector, which is more robust than smaller HDMI formats when space inside the housing allows. The short internal HDMI cable is thin and flexible, allowing economical routing inside the housing where space is limited.

How It Works
The bulkhead connector is installed from the outside of the underwater housing into the M16 threaded port or M16 opening. The housing wall sits between the external connector body and the internal security nut. From inside the housing, the M16 security nut is tightened to secure the bulkhead connector firmly in place.
After installation, the internal flexible HDMI cable connects to the camera, monitor electronics, converter, or other HDMI device inside the housing. The external waterproof HDMI cable connects to the outside of the bulkhead connector and can be routed horizontally along the housing for cleaner cable management and reduced underwater drag.

Important Installation Notice
Before underwater use, always verify that the external cable coupling nut is fully tightened by hand.
The connection must feel like one solid unit with no movement or looseness. Do not use pliers or other tools to tighten the connector. Hand-tightening only is recommended.
Improper tightening may result in water ingress, flooding, or damage to the camera, housing, cable, or electronics.
