DNC-GP30 Underwater SDI Live View System
The DNC-GP30 is a professional underwater SDI live view system for GoPro Hero 13, 12, 11, 10, and 9 cameras. It provides real-time 1080p60 SDI video output to the surface while the GoPro can continue recording high-resolution video internally.
The main difference between the DNC-GP30 and the modular DNC-GP28 is the cable configuration. The DNC-GP30 uses two permanently attached heavy-duty cables: a dedicated SDI video cable and a dedicated power cable. Both cables can be supplied in shorter custom lengths or in lengths up to 100 meters / 328 feet.
This design is intended for professional users who prefer a robust system with permanently attached cables for regular underwater inspection, live monitoring, research, aquaculture, documentary production, commercial diving, and other demanding field applications.
The GoPro housing is machined from marine-grade aluminum with a hard-anodized finish and is depth-rated to 100m / 330ft. The system requires 15–24V DC surface power for stable operation, especially when long power cables are used.
How the DNC-GP30 Underwater SDI System Works
The GoPro camera is installed inside the DNC-GP30 underwater housing. Live 1080p60 video travels through the permanently attached SDI cable to the surface, while the separate permanently attached power cable supplies continuous power from the surface.
An SDI monitor, recorder, switcher, streaming encoder, or control station can be connected directly to the SDI output. An HDMI monitor may also be used by connecting an optional SDI-to-HDMI converter at the surface.

For illustration purposes only. The SDI-to-HDMI converter and surface monitor are not included unless specifically listed in the selected configuration.
Powering the DNC-GP30 from Your Boat's Existing 12V Electrical System
The standard DNC-GP30 system includes a 15V universal power supply with 110–240V AC input. This is the standard solution for shore-based operation, workshops, laboratories, and other locations where AC power is readily available.
Many commercial dive boats, work vessels, research vessels, and inspection platforms already have a reliable 12V DC onboard electrical system. In these situations, the DNC-GP30 can operate without using the included 15V AC power supply.
Instead, Dive And See can provide an optional 12V to 24V DC step-up converter that connects directly to the vessel's existing 12V battery or DC electrical system. The converter produces a stable 24V DC output, which is fully compatible with the DNC-GP30 operating range of 15–24V DC.
The higher 24V supply voltage also helps compensate for voltage drop across long heavy-duty power cables, supporting stable operation with cable lengths up to 100 meters / 328 feet.

For illustration purposes only. The converter model and connection hardware may vary.
Typical Installation
Option 1 — Recommended for Boats
12V boat battery or onboard 12V DC system → 12V to 24V DC converter → DNC-GP30 power cable
Option 2 — Included Standard Power Supply
110–240V AC → included 15V power supply → DNC-GP30 power cable
✔ Ideal for commercial dive boats with existing 12V onboard electrical systems.
✔ No 110–240V AC power is required when using the optional 12V to 24V DC converter.
If your vessel only provides 12V DC power, simply let us know when placing your order. We can include the appropriate 12V to 24V DC converter with your DNC-GP30 system, allowing it to operate directly from your boat's existing low-voltage electrical system without requiring the supplied 15V AC power adapter.
Why SDI Instead of HDMI?
SDI is a professional video standard designed for reliable real-time video transmission over longer cable runs. For underwater live view systems, SDI is often simpler and more robust than HDMI because the signal is easier to route through long underwater cable assemblies and professional monitoring equipment.
The DNC-GP30 sends a clean 1080p60 SDI live video signal to the surface while the GoPro can continue recording high-resolution footage internally. This gives the operator real-time monitoring without giving up high-quality recording inside the camera.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why use SDI instead of HDMI underwater?
SDI is commonly used in professional video systems because it is reliable for longer cable runs and works well with broadcast monitors, recorders, switchers, and converters. For this type of underwater live view system, SDI is often simpler and more dependable than trying to extend HDMI over a long underwater cable.
Can I use an HDMI monitor?
Yes. Connect an optional SDI-to-HDMI converter at the surface between the DNC-GP30 SDI output and the HDMI monitor.
Can the GoPro still record internally?
Yes. The system provides SDI live view to the surface while the GoPro can record high-resolution footage internally to its memory card.
Are the SDI and power cables detachable?
No. The DNC-GP30 uses two permanently attached heavy-duty cables: one SDI cable and one power cable.
What cable lengths are available?
Shorter custom cable lengths are available. The maximum available length is up to 100 meters / 328 feet.
Does this system power the GoPro from the surface?
Yes. The system uses a separate permanently attached power cable and requires 15–24V DC surface power. A 15V universal power supply is included with the standard set.
Why does the DNC-GP30 use 15–24V DC power?
The higher input voltage helps support stable operation through long power cables, especially in configurations approaching 100 meters.
Can I power the DNC-GP30 from my boat's 12V battery?
Yes. Dive And See can supply an optional 12V to 24V DC step-up converter. It connects to the vessel's existing 12V DC system and provides a stable 24V DC output for the DNC-GP30. When this option is used, the included 15V AC power supply is not required.
Is 24V DC compatible with the DNC-GP30?
Yes. The DNC-GP30 operates from 15–24V DC. A 24V DC input is within the approved operating range and helps support stable operation through long power cables.
What is the depth rating?
The housing is rated to 100m / 330ft.
What is this system best for?
It is designed for underwater live view, commercial diving, inspection, marine research, live streaming, broadcast, aquaculture monitoring, and professional GoPro-based underwater video workflows.
Need a Custom Cable Length?
The DNC-GP30 can be configured with permanently attached SDI and power cables in shorter custom lengths or in lengths up to 100 meters.
